Short biography
Frederik Bisbjerg (born 1973 in Denmark) is an international C-level executive and sought-after expert specialising in AI strategy for insurers, digital transformation, and business-model innovation within the insurance industry — particularly across the MENA region.
He is Managing Director & Co-Founder of Axxion Claims Settlement Services in Dubai, a company built to fix the long-standing pain points between insurers, policyholders, and repairers in the GCC motor-claims industry — reducing repair costs, improving the policyholder experience, and documenting every step and datapoint along the way.
He is also Head of MENA and a Digital Transformation specialist with The Digital Insurer, where he is a founding member of the world's first mini-MBA in Digital Insurance and lectures on Strategy & Transformation, Big Data, and best-practice tech architectures.
Previously, Frederik held senior executive roles including CEO of Al Wathba National Insurance, Chief Transformation Officer at AXA Global Healthcare, and Senior Vice President / Chief Digital Officer for Digital Transformation & Innovation at Daman — one of the GCC's largest insurers — where he led the company's shift toward a digitally driven, agile, and resilient operating model. He served as Executive Vice President for Qatar Insurance Company (QIC), the largest composite insurer in the MENA region.
He is recognised for building businesses and forging new, often previously unseen, alliances between partners for mutual benefit — a skill honed through years of international work at top-tier management consultancy Bain & Company. He is the author of the best-selling book Insurance_Next, a practical guide to transforming an incumbent insurer into a flexible, agile, and resilient company ready for the new normal.
